Our Story

Creature of Habit is a space for intentional hairdressing and intentional timing.

Located on Catskill’s historic Main Street, we offer a calm, comfortable luxury salon experience centered on spaciousness, cleanliness, and attention to detail. We do not double book appointments, we avoid harsh chemical smells, and we prioritize a peaceful environment where you can fully relax.

Our artists work on an hourly booking model rather than à la carte services. This allows us to tailor each appointment to your unique needs without surprise upcharges for treatments or blowouts. Just thoughtful time, used well.

At Creature of Habit, the focus is unhurried care, quiet luxury, and hair that feels true to you. You will leave feeling more like yourself.

Thank you so much for checking us out. We are a little different than most hairdressing studios. We do not have a receptionist so the best way to book an appointment is to contact our stylist directly. Their info can be found on our homepage.

  • We recommend booking a new client haircut to start for all clients! If you have any questions you can reach out to your stylist directly via email or text us!

  • Appointments cancelled before 24hrs will be refunded in full.

    Appointments cancelled within 24hrs will be charged 50% of the service fee.

    No show or appointments cancelled during the service window will be charged 100% of the service.

  • Please come solo to your appointment. We understand childcare falls through. In that case please reach out to your stylist directly and they can help you rebook you appointment. Cancellation policy may apply. 

  • Dirty Hair - We Don't Care! Come as you are!

  • Yes! There's a FREE lot across the street or metered parking.

  • We hope you love your hair! If you're unhappy with it for any reason contact us directly within 1 week of your appointment and we will do whatever can to fix it.

  • Creature of Habit is committed to providing a clean and safe salon environment. We use Kevin Murphy Color, Hair Story, and Innersense which are all low tox products.

  • We do not carry products inside our salon and encourage our clients to purchase only what they need through our affiliate links.
